A Trade with every NBA team in the Atlantic Division the Wolves need to do

The Timberwolves have very little they can trade because they are a 2nd apron team but I have found a justifiable trade for the Timberwolves with every team, starting with the Atlantic division. To start things off, the Timberwolves need to add a playmaker/floor general to their bench after the loss of Kyle Anderson and Monte Morris. Next, they need to lower their payroll because it is inevitable that in the next few years the Timberwolves will lose impact players in free agency if they can’t pay them. The Wolves could also use some more draft capital for trade bait.

Boston Celtics

  • Give: Jordan Walsh, 2031 Second Round Pick

  • Get: Leonard Miller

The Celtics need more big man depth with Porzingis out until December. Leonard Miller answers their need for a big if Al Horford (38) needs a rest. It works for the Wolves because the Wolves could benefit from another shooting to come off the end of the bench when needed. Also, the Wolves receive Boston’s 2031 Second Round pick which can be used in future trades.

New York Knicks

  • Give: Julius Randle, Mitchell Robinson, and Charlie Brown Jr. Cap Hold

  • Get: Rudy Gobert, 2 Second round Picks

The Knicks are in desperate need of a center currently. This solves their problem by sending them Rudy Gobert. Rudy could work quite well with the Knicks because of their strong three point shooting. Also, Julius Randle is rumored in trade rumors so the Knicks would be fine getting rid of him for a 4-time DPOY. Julius Randle adds a much needed playmaking void for the Wolves, and he isn’t a bad defender. Mitchell Robinson is very injury prone, but he has the upside of being a big with the effectiveness of Rudy Gobert. Mitchell Robinson should be able to play well alongside Naz Reid (my king) because of Naz’s outside shooting ability and athleticism. Charlie Brown’s contract is needed for the money to work out.

Philadelphia 76ers

  • Give: Ricky Council IV, 2031 Second Round Pick

  • Get: Leonard Miller

Embiid has the potential to miss A LOT of games. Leonard Miller gives the sixers another big they can throw in the lineup when Embiid is out. Ricky Council IV is built identically to NAW but a little taller and more athletic. Ricky Council IV was an undrafted rookie last year and surprised. If he were to be on the Wolves he could earn minutes if he develops into a good 3 and D bench player even though the wolves have plenty of good defensive players Ricky Council IV also has plenty of offensive potential.

Brooklyn Nets

  • Give: Cameron Johnson, Dorian Finney-Smith

  • Get: Rudy Gobert, 3 Second Round Picks

The Nets want to lose. Rudy Gobert is a good player, BUT without smart players like Conley, KAT, or Ant he won’t be as impactful. Cam Johnson and Finney-Smith are great 3 and D players who are bodies the wolves can throw at Luka, OKC, and everyone other than Jokic. To start off having a lineup without Gobert means the Wolves offense can have top-5 potential with my MVP Ant and good 3 point shooters. I have faith that the KAT can play as a true center all by himself. Having Finney-Smith and Cam Johnson allows the Wolves to be deeper and be able to defend anybody in the league except Embiid, Jokic and Giannis, but if Finchie doesn’t get hurt in the playoffs again I believe the Wolves have the grit to overcome these players.

Toronto Raptors

  • Give: 2031 Second Round Pick

  • Get: 2025 Second Round Pick Via Den or Phi

sigh I think all of the raptors players are being overpaid, so I thought why not take a bet on some Second Round Picks. The raptors could end with a high Second Round pick if either Denver or Philly struggles this season which wouldn’t be a surprise to me. Denver will miss KCP’s defense and shooting. Philly will struggle especially at the start of the season as they figure the Big 3 out and for all you know it won’t work. As the Wolves in this situation I am taking the bet that Scottie Barnes is not a Superstar and not worth what they paid him. I think the Raptors should have gone more heavily into a rebuild and at least traded Bruce Brown and Olynyk, so I think the raptors will start coming back into true playoff contention around 2030 but in this case the Wolves are betting on them not.
